Thanks to ISASS members for helping keep the AMA House of Delegates seat

Last month, ISASS began a major initiative to increase the number of ISASS members in the AMA in order to maintain the ISASS seat in the AMA House of Delegates. Through membership in the AMA House of Delegates, ISASS is also able to be an active participant in several AMA bodies, including the AMA House of Delegates, the AMA CPT Editorial Panel, the AMA/Multi-Specialty Relativity Update Committee (RUC), and the AMA Federal Advocacy and Policy Federation, among others. It is through this activity that ISASS has been able to directly achieve many important outcomes that have benefited ISASS members. ISASS’ AMA HOD seat directly impacts you

ISASS is an active participant in several AMA bodies through its seat on the AMA House of Delegates: AMA CPT Editorial Panel AMA/Multi-Specialty Relativity Update Committee (RUC) AMA Federal Advocacy and Policy Federation It is through this activity that ISASS has been able to directly achieve many important outcomes that have benefited ISASS members. Among these successes are the correction of the valuation of CPT 27279, Minimally Invasive Sacroiliac Joint Fusion in 2020, the work to correct the valuation of CPT 22867, Interlaminar Stabilization Distraction Device Insertion (Coflex Procedure), the definition of Endoscopic Decompression procedures at CPT, and the development of emerging spine surgery technology that are the foundation of ISASS’ commitment to new technology development. AMA House of Delegates Meets and Reviews High Priority Health Policy and Physician Practice Issues

ISASS and other Physician Specialty Societies met in Chicago from June 8-12, as part of the annual AMA House of Delegates convention.  The AMA House of Delegates is the AMA’s policy-making body and consists of specialty and state societies and other physician stakeholders. The more than 500 voting delegates selected by their member organizations are charged with establishing broad policy on health, medical, professional and AMA governance issues. Members of the House of Delegates include state medical associations, the five federal services, national medical specialty societies and professional interest medical associations, sections and groups.
