Aurora IL USA/Mar 11 2013—ISASS13, a multi-professional spine industry event hosted by ISASS – International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS) is showing signs of growth in both new exhibitors and new attendees.  “We have 17 new exhibitors this year and are seeing an increase in the number of first-time attendees throughout all of our categories,” says Kristy Radcliffe, Executive Director of ISASS.  “ISASS continues to grow in size and reputation as we focus on representing ALLspine surgeons throughout our advocacy and educational efforts and increase the number of opportunities we give our members to learn from one another.”

ISASS13 will be held April 3-5 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and has become a must-attend event for spine surgeons throughout the world. “Our 2013 program is shaping up to be even better than last year,” says ISASS president Steven Garfin, MD.  “You will find a robust agenda, one that will provide scientific and educational information that will improve your knowledge of current and future devices and techniques, and that will ultimately improve the care that you provide your patients.”  Program highlights presentations on Cervical Therapies and Outcomes, Lumbar Therapies and Outcomes, MIS Technique and Results, Biologic Therapies and Research, Navigation, Image-Guided Surgery and Robotic Assistance, Conservative Care and Injection Therapies, Biomechanics/Basic Science, Sports and Spine, Nanotechnology.

In addition to presentations, cadaver labs and networking opportunities, ISASS13 will also welcome Samuel Stupp as its Presidential Guest Speaker.  Stupp is a Board of Trustees Professor of Materials Science, Chemistry and Medicine at Northwestern University and is best known for his work on self-assembling materials and supramolecular chemistry.  “Samuel Stupp has published over 300 papers in highly respected peer-reviewed scientific journals,” adds Radcliffe.  “We are looking forward to having him be part of ISASS13.”
