The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery

A Message from Robert Gunzburg, MD, PhD, ISASS12 Clinical Program Chair

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As the Clinical Program Chair for the 12th Anniversary of the ISASS it was important for me to maintain the high level of academic standards set forth by those who held this position before me.

I would like to highlight the following clinical topics:

  • On Wednesday, the first day, we will have sessions on MIS, lumbar therapies, sagittal balance and deformity, biology and biomechanics as well as an instructional course on Navigation/ Robotics and Biologics.
  • Thursday will start with clinical cervical therapies after which we will have the President's address and Presidential Guest Speaker. In the afternoon we will have a debate on MIS Hope vs Hype where Frank Phillips and Stephen Hochschuler will share the battle stage. Two more instructional course symposia on TDR and RA will end the day.
  • Friday will be used for a cadaver lab in the morning as well as concurrent sessions on clinical issues. The poster area will carry a large number of excellent papers which did not make it up to the podium. On Thursday, a selection of those are being highlighted in a poster session.

I would like to thank each member of the International Clinical Program Committee for their time and dedication to excellence. In reviewing each paper we graded with fairness and the highest level of academic standards.
