Membership in ISASS has grown from a few hundred members to more than 3,000 members representing countries throughout the world.

Membership in The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery is open to all spinal specialists, groups or organizations, including government or industry, whose common cause is the advancement of spine surgery. The specific focus to become a global organization that concentrates on the newest techniques in artificial disc and nucleus replacement makes ISASS a unique organization. As a complement to existing spine-related organizations, it’s the society’s intent to present information that my not be readily available in relation to new technologies. In a field with rapid changes in terms of new products and advancements, ISASS provides a distinct voice for these new techniques and technologies. Membership in such an organization gives its members access to this information, discounts on conferences and symposiums and association wit a global organization that recognizes significant changes in the treatment and resolution of degenerative disc disease.

Beyond the tangible benefits of ISASS membership, through membership, it is the Society’s intent to become a forum that provides research grants, funds travelling fellowship programs, supports surgical Centers of Excellence, establishes educational certification, organizes conferences and symposia, develops web-enabled forums, continued development of the successful SAS Journal of Spine Advancement and raise worldwide awareness of spine surgery techniques and technologies. In general, ISASS is involved with all aspects of basic and clinical science of motion preservation, stabilization, innovative technologies, MIS procedures, biologics and other fundamental topics to restore and improve motion and function of the spine for: surgeons, scientists, inventors and others. ISASS is dedicated to advancing major evolutionary steps in spine surgery.
